Aliasing.Pro Version 5.6 Plans
I have been taking a break from working on the project because it seems unwise to start coding a refactor as big as version 6 without having clear user stories in mind. I got a bit carried away with the plans to have the entire engine be tile based. I still want to make the engine run on a game loop with an output canvas instead of css based layering and tile layers are still in the plans, but there will still be normal raster layers as well.
I will keep releasing updates under version 5 inlcuding the new dragable interface and a new color system. Palettes will now be 24 colors and you will be able to have up to 10 palettes per project. The first palette is going to be a system palette that is used as the base truth of assets to be converted to the other palettes at run time. Even though I won’t be working on pro features I will still have to do a whole refactor which will take considerable effort
The gallery is a major feature that won’t fully release until version 6. However, the landing page really needs some examples of user art sooner rather than later, so I plan to make a manually curated gallery sometime duirng version 5. Look out for a campaign on social media and Discord requesting user art submissions!
